Heartbleed Update - All PCCC Services Patched

Apr 10, 2014On April 7th, PCCC was notified about a security issue CVE-2014-0160 also known as Heartbleed which was a bug in the OpenSSL v1.0.1 & later.

Heartbleed primarily affects servers and ISPs. Heartbleed is not an issue for typical end users to resolve and switching browsers does not help.

At this time, there is nothing you as an end-user need to do except check that services you use are patched for Heartbleed.

PCCC began the process of patching all of our servers on April 7th and all PCCC services have been patched for Heartbleed and tested as of early afternoon yesterday (4/9/2014). We have also replaced our SSL certificates and changed all SSH Host Keys. We are also monitoring for any improper use of credentials that would indicate a compromise at which point we may reset all passwords. However, at this time, we do not believe that this step is warranted and recommend against changing your password on services that are NOT patched for Heartbleed, since you could open yourself up to a larger vulnerability.

You can test if a service is patched against Heartbleed using tools such as Filippo Valsorda's website:

Thank you for your continued business and the attention to security. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
